NeoFur - Fur, Fibers, Fuzzy Surfaces and more!

@worldofpolygons - have you seen our documentation here?: https://neofur.torchpad.com/Advanced+Usage/Pre-compiled+Binaries

If you’ve followed these steps and are still having problems, let me know…

That 19 dollar license would allow me to pick it up right way and still support you guys.

You got a sale.

Oh, wow… first I’m seeing this :

Couple of questions:

  • Will it be put on the marketplace?

Back in the day, 3dsMax arc-viz projects used a fur-shader to simulate grass… so…

  • Have you tried using this as foliage (grass)?
  • If so, how does it compare to using grass foliage?

So would this be a case where we can purchase the $19 license to begin development and upgrade to the pro should we decide to actually use it? I ask because we’ve been examining fur options for the creatures in our stylized game. We’ve considered incorporating Nvidia tech, but we don’t really want to alienate non-Nvidia users, so this seems like a solid option. However we’re concerned how it’ll work performance-wise once all is said and done, so it’d be nice to be able to pick it up and begin experimenting, and only need to drop the money for the pro license if we choose to actually go this route.

I would agree that this is a viable approach for simple testing. I would however forewarn that the personal license is not able to package builds, and there is somewhat of a performance improvement from testing a packaged build vs testing from the editor.

is there any news regarding a debug-able indie version? it really isn’t a viable option for us to block our programmer just to test the plugin and see if it’ll work for us.

I just bought this a few days ago on a personal license to evaluate whether it makes sense to use it for our project, and I’m pretty impressed. Awesome stuff, @cman2k!

Can’t wait to play with those new features!

Thanks for all the enthusiasm and support we have received from everyone!

@cman2k When release a NeoFur for Unreal Engine 4.12?

cool!it’s higly impressive!what about more humanoid animals?

Nice! I’ve also had a good experience with NeoFur so far. Already made a post about it on our developer blog.
Any plans for new features for 4.12?

How important is the Project name in the checkout? I am a looong way from anything shippable.

so this look impressing i guess someone made sonic model by using it

did you have any success using neofur on ragdolled skeletal meshes? we can’t seem to get it to work.

Hello divi, what kind of problems are you guys experiancing? My meshes in game are all ragdolled hopefully there isnt some limitation by Neofur of its use.

once ragdoll gets turned on the furmesh starts jittering all over the place untill the ragdoll settles.

at first it seemed like the problem of child components colliding with their parents but even turning off collision on the furmesh didn’t work for skeletal meshes.
