Hi, I am fairly new to Unreal engine ans have started learning it couple of days ago. So today when i launched the editor i kept getting this error. EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION reading address 0xffffffffffffffd8. Now, i have updated the graphics drivers. My pc build is pretty decent. i9 14900, 32gb ddr5 and 4080. plus couple of ssds and one hdd. Can anyone help me out please? Screenshot attached for reference
Hello there @Ahmed_Ali_League!
Considering your scenario, I would suggest a full uninstall/reinstall of all Epic software:
- First, uninstall the engine, launcher, asset packs, etc
- Next, open the registry directory HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Epic Games\Unreal Engine\Builds, and delete any build entries
- Finally, delete the folders %userprofile%\AppData\Local\UnrealEngine and %userprofile%\AppData\Local\UnrealHeaderTool
- After that, reinstall UE launcher from scratch, and add your desired version of the engine
