(need help) Small distance do not cast shadow

Hello,

Why is my wall do not cast shadow like the photo?

I tried different way to model the wall, like enabling / disabling nanite, remesh to 1million triangle, model in ue5 directly, model in sketchup and import. But still all get the same result which is no shadow casting.

And then i try to put some simple box (the dark two in the images) and found that the box will cast correct shadow (like my photo took on site) if it stick out from the wall with enough distance, like my last image.

What can i do to make the shadow cast correctly even the distance is small? like in real life.

I don’t know how to get the close shadow with different settings, but you could look into creating ambient occlusion texture for the materials. This will create a sort of Baked shadow effect.
