Need help painting layers onto a static mesh.

From what I have discovered when the “Landscape Layer Blend” node is used within a material, that material will only work when painting landscapes, and can’t be used to paint imported geo. Correct?

So I am wondering How can I set up a material (what node to use) so that I can paint layers onto my imported static mesh.

I have sculpted in Maya a beach terrain. The two parts to the material I want to paint onto this geometry is the sand and then the wet sand at the edge where the water meets the land.

I would appreciate any clues as to how to do this.

As far as I know it cannot be done. Landscape Mesh is based on the heightmap and Landscape system in UE4 requires it. When you import your huge static mesh (beach terrain) from Maya, UE4’s Landscape tools do not know how to work with it.

There was a thread about this in the forums. You can check it here:
