Need advice for a person who never programmed at all for the Vive.

Hello all
I am very new here. I am a music sound engineer. I never thought about making something until I bought a Vive. I now would like to make a horror game with music. But I thought only way to put my music in a Vive game is make something my self. I am very new to this I do not know any programming. I would like to start easy from the beginning. Somebody start with Unity. Then somebody I read go with Unreal because of the blue prints. So please I have no idea how to use UE4 Engine. PLease need some advice what to start with for VR devepment.
Thanks

Hello speaker13.

I am working with the oculus for a few years now and recently a few months also with the Vive. The Vive is really an game changer in my opinion so I can understand why you want to make a horror game yourself. It will be very hard to do it but if you are dedicated you can do it.
I would advice you to start with some basics about blueprints first so that you can understand the concept of blueprints. The Unreal Engine tutorials are really good if you want to start with it.

And when you want to put in the Vive I recommend Mitch’s VR lab videos. Mitch's VR Lab - YouTube

Goodluck

To shill my own stuff, you can check out my series here: Creating a VR Space Combat Sim Without Code in UE4 - YouTube

It teaches you how to make a space combat VR game in less than an hour using Unreal 4 without typing code.

It doesn’t go much into the theory though, it just shows you how to do stuff fast.

For the thoery, I suggest google “Mitchs VR Lab” he has an excellent series that goes in depth on the theory.

Thank you all for the help

I think best way is you just focus on sounds and music and find a programmer to join you, I can tell you results 100% changed, Project Timeline is faster and you never tired during project and maybe canceling that, this was my experience from several projects.

Thanks again man learning the interface is not easy alot to remember.
