NAS for Rendering and Storage?

I’ve never used a Network Attached Storage (NAS) device before. Recently, I’ve been seeing mentions of this for rendering as it relates to storage, drive speeds, etc. I think you may be able to tell that I still possess knowledge gaps in how NAS devices work. I mainly know they’re used for storage, but unsure if it’s beneficial to rendering per se.

Would anyone care to tell me how a NAS could be beneficial? Thank you! :grinning:
