Nanite simplifies and distorts the original mesh

Anyone experience this? It’s similar to using ‘limited dissolve’ operation in Blender with the angle set way high. Tried tweaking the nanite options without success.

It’s especially bad for curved shapes like cylinders etc.

It sounds like you need to upgrade your project to DX12, which is now required for Nanite, otherwise DX11 just displays a proxy mesh. See this post for details: Huge quality loss with Nanite?

Well my projects for example were created before 5.0 release and were set to “Default” which = DX11, but when I created a new project it was already DX12 by default.
