Nanite and Path Tracing

Hi

I have 2 questions.

  1. Will high poly meshes slow down path tracer rendering times?

  2. If so, does Nanite work with the path tracer? And will this decrease rendering time having it enabled?

Really appreciate any help regarding these 2 questions.

  1. Not really, if it does, it’s very minimal.

  2. No, it uses the fallback mesh instead when Nanite is enabled.

Is there a maximum poly count for the Path Tracer?

Will the fallback mesh be the same poly count as the Nanite mesh?

I don’t believe there is a set maximum, should work if the editor is working. You can set the fallback error for nanite and keep the full polycount of a model.
