Greetings to all! This is my first work in Unreal Engine - Harmonytron - Crystals of Time - completed from idea to publication. I had to go through a huge amount of trial and error before I managed to achieve the desired result. However, I am very excited about my journey into the depths of Unreal Engine’s truly epic product.
To some extent, this was an educational work for me, so I tried to cover all the capabilities of the engine - atmosphere, lighting, water bodies, particles, work in the sequencer and spline animation, vegetation, and of course virtual production. In addition, I am also the author of the musical creation for which the music video was made.
I hope you like the result. I look forward to expanding the Harmonytron universe with new episodes, continuing the story…
Hi there @ReRobotic ! Welcome back to posting with us here on the forums!
Your eye for aesthetic combinations is absolutely stunning. The high tech mixed with the nature around it that has hints of bio-tech is so lovely to see! I get this interesting almost Destiny 2 feeling but it has it’s own special spin.
Where did your inspiration for such scenes come from?
This is absolutely rad. The animations, the lighting, and the environment are all done so incredibly well. Even more so considering it’s your first UE project If this is just your first step, I can’t wait to see what you come up with in the future
Thanks a lot! It is so nice to finally hear feedback from experts. For some reason, the YouTube, Instagram and TikTok algorithms ignored my latest works. Haha. So I finally found out that I created something good.
As for the style, I am a big fan of 80s anime and I do not understand why modern culture has so wildly degraded compared to that time. I still cannot boast that I have recreated that aesthetic with modern technologies. But the vector of my development lies in this direction.
I want to expand the story of my hero with each new episode. And maybe with one of the attempts I will be able to produce the desired result.
Actually, I had experience working in 3D software, specifically 3ds Max. But those who have worked with Unreal Engine understand that this gives little advantage and even somehow hinders adopting its philosophy. However, over time I adapted and of course the same scenes rendered with V-Ray for example would have taken years rather than months.
But there were also many difficulties with Unreal as I ended up on version 5.0 at the time, where many technologies were not fully implemented and there were problems with reflections, lighting, smoke and more. Now on 5.2 - 5.3 it has of course become more pleasant to work.
So I promise to share new episodes soon, I immediately have two in the rendering phase.

That makes sense! I was getting a little bit of an 80’s inspiration. I was thinking there was some Akira/Cyberpunk inspiration taken which I adore personally! I also am a big fan of the idea that you will tell a story with your character through music videos. That is such an interesting storytelling method that really captures people’s hearts.
I look forward to seeing you grow and what you’ll come up next for our futuristic friend!
