To be fair, they’re slowly taking down some of the stuff that I’ve reported. But I can’t make any promises on the abundance of Star Wars stuff and that Halo Warthog.
Adding this profile to the list of stolen stuff. Lots of Fallout, Halo, Star Wars, Dune and god knows what else. There are lots of stuff here that I recognize, I hope that Epic just don’t delist the assets but ban the individual posting all that crap.
Just add some blacklist for the name or something. Add a report button and we will help with the cleanup. Stop patching wounds and let us help get rid of the disease.
It already exists, but it only works half the time
He’s lying. I know for a fact that they can block your IP address any second (meaning you cannot create any more accounts).
My guess is… they are very aware that taking such strong measure would mean cutting FAB products by 80%. We talking about most of the Sketchfab trash they allowed in and 100% of AI. In other words, it would kill FAB
Killing it is a stretch but they sure do need to bring ~ some ~ form of QA like before to remove all that trash.
Realistically speaking, it’ll be in the 40-60% range. Because as horrific as the AI spam is; it won’t diminish the quantity of sellers who are busy uploading their own projects up on there. And the sizeable portion of the old marketplace
I have opposite idea. I price my models low, so they need to make it even lower to make sales. and it may not be profitable for them.
Also i rig my models. Usually rig and animation is difficult to rip.
And finally i show 1 color scheme and make 2 which is visible on renders. If they will steal they will have only part of color schemes.
But basically it is great pain in the ■■■.
For the moment, you probably right. But think about it, who’s uploading faster? AI with generated together with bad character’s stolen assets OR ur normal Seller creating good quality work? Answer is simple, you can’t compare rain with waterfall. It will eventually be 100% them.
Why am I so sure… just look at the X tweets from their CEO. He’s in love with AI and can’t wait to make FAB an AI generator to create Games (he’s just feeding it with our work).
I’ll tell you a “not so secret” thing. Lot of people come here to buy cheap stuff to resell on 3D printing sites or Patreon. Their fans think your 10 hour beautiful sculpted models are his. So he’s making money not only by offering your asset in Patron but also creating a collectors items for 3D printing (minitures or cosplay) and that market is huge . Not to mention toys from your assets on Amazon, etc.
So yeah, you will be getting ripped anyway, specially if the price of your asset is low cause that’s what they’re after .
Well, it’s not like people are actually buying them, right?
About that, I really don’t use Twitter that often and I don’t really know Elon that well.
However, I really don’t think that we’re at the level of AI completely replacing our jobs. At least not within the next year or so.
Honestly, I don’t think they’re after the sales. The just want to feed the Pig🐷, so when it’s fat and ready… they start charging subscriptions to use their asset generator.
It’s going faster than you think. Go google Sora video generator from OpenAI and checks it’s latest update. It’s crazy, that thing is putting thousands out of work. In 2 or 3 years, you’ll be easily able to create games and apps just by typing a description in your keyboard.
Which would eventually be the victim of an impending lawsuit.
Well, we’re already at the point where there’s pipeline where you can generate 3D models from AI art
No doubt. At the same, Tim Sweeney enjoys going to court. Breaking Apple’s decades long wall garden must have earn him good friends in power (favors). So, he definitely feels confident and will be very hard to take down his Pig game asset generator in the near future. He cares a danm about copyright infringement and might get away with it.
That’s their goal. Subscribe for $10/m and access our AAA asset generator to create games in one week
With AI Metahumans + Megascans + all the animation knowledge they are collecting… they could potentially become a NETFLIX rival. May sound crazy but anyone could make a hollywood caliber movie in a couple of weeks.
Personally, I would prefer not to bite the hand that feeds me, like this.
I honestly would like to know why there is basically no acknowledgement from Epic from this kind of issue. I mean, even on the roadmap there isn’t a n y t h i n g telling us about how they are going to deal with this mess they’ve made themselves and dragged everyone into.
Honestly, I think AI stuff should have their own category and everything shoved into there. It has no place together with legitimate people’s assets.
“Smart Assets” is a generic category that could fit anything if your mental gymnastics allows it.
IP theft should have like a 3 strike policy or something harsher.
Also, everything should go through a QA like they used to, or at least let the community itself clean up the trash if they’re not willing to address those issues via reporting or shadowbaning. Where is the Fortnite money going if not paying for more staff to help the ecosystem grow?
Provide sources or we call cap on your bs.
Yeah, we’ve known about this for the past few months. Usually, we just ignore him whenever he brings this up
