Mutable: Dataless Skeletal meshes causes crash when used with mesh removal modifiers

Using “clip mesh with mesh” or “Remove mesh blocks” together with dataless skeletal mesh parameters makes the engine crash.

Steps to Reproduce

Create a simple Mutable (Customizable Object) setup where you want to remove clipping mesh faces. Image below is how I made my setup. This setup should work nicely.

To trigger the crash, replace all SKM nodes with their Dataless counterpart and reassign the same SKMs to these new, dataless nodes. Click Compile (and enable the “Hat” parameter if you set it as a Toggle option

We’ve made some significant improvements to dataless mutable for 5.8, including a substantial number of code changes. This issue does not repro for 5.8 and I would recommend waiting for that release to address this issue.
