- Connect any skeleton or static mesh to a clip mesh with mesh node. (It crash with simple default sphere availlable in unreal)
- Select the clip mesh node and unreal crash.
It also crash on 5.6.
It also crash on 5.6.
Hi Francis,
I’ve managed to confirm this issue under slightly different conditions. Firstly, I can only repeat it with a static mesh assignment. Skeletal mesh assignments work fine for me. Second, I’ve narrowed the bug down to two reproduction cases. The first is if you drag off a static mesh node and assign nothing to it. If you click the clip mesh with mesh node, it will trigger the crash. The second is if you assign a static mesh to the static mesh node, then change it to a different static mesh that has a different material.
I have raised the issue to Epic, but they are away on company holiday until the 14th of July. I will post a proper ticket link if and when one is issued to me.
In the mean time, a possible work-around to this is to only select static meshes that have the same material, if changing them on the node. If a different material is needed, delete the original static mesh node and create a new one with the alternate static mesh assigned.

Hi Francis,
It seems that this was closed automatically due to the delay in getting a bug report (due to various holidays). Sorry about that!
In any case, here is a link to the bug, which you can follow to see if and when it gets fixed.
Best regards,

Hello Graeme,
I juste found another node that is also making unreal crash by simply selecting it. Would it be possible to add it to the other ticket ? It is the same repro step.
Node : Projector Parameter
Hi Francis,
I don’t have the ability to update bugs reports after they are created. I think it’s best to raise this as a new issue. That being said, I spent a bit of time trying to reproduce it, but I can’t make it crash. I just created a projector parameter node and I could click on it fine. I then tried dragging off a texture projector from the parameter pin and making some changes, but I still could not get it to crash. I tried both Unreal 5.5 and 5.6.
If you create a new bug report for this, are there any other steps you can remember that you were doing or modifications you made that might also be part of the crash? Including that information in the bug report would be very helpful.
