Since Fab has come out I’ve been very disappointed with how unfinished it feels. I really don’t think it was ready to replace the Unreal Engine marketplace. Here’s all the bugs I’ve encountered in the very feature-bare seller portal, and some feature requests as well as complaints about important missing features that we used to have.
BUGS:
-
Group by month in the sales tab of the sales reports page doesn’t work. I’ve made many sales in both December 2024, and January 2025. They all show up when grouping by day, but when I switch to group by month: first off I can’t even select any month in 2024, but when I select January 2025 it says I have no sales.

Formatting the description of a product is incredibly difficult. When trying to alternate between headings and normal text it’s hard to actually get what you want. I’ll write a heading, move down a couple lines and try to write regular text and it’ll switch the heading to regular text, there are lots of small issues like that making it much more difficult than it should be. The published description doesn’t always look the same either. I’ll try to skip lines to leave space between different information but the spaces will disappear in the preview listing page. It took a long time to properly format my page the way I wanted in the description editor.

When updating a product’s file, you HAVE to change the name of the file otherwise FAB won’t update it. I released a major update for my product, but didn’t change the name of the file I was submitting because none of the customers see it anyways. As it turns out you have to, otherwise Fab won’t update the file, even if the new file has an entirely different google drive link. This led to a bunch of confusion when I told all my customers, “Hey there’s a new update with all these awesome features go get it!” Then no one actually had access to it and I had no idea because FAB approved it and the listing page showed the correct google drive link for the file.

This issue I put in a support ticket for. I submitted my product as compatible with UE versions 5.1 - 5.5, FAB recognizes that and it shows on my listing page, but for some reason whenever customers or myself try to add the product to a 5.5 project it says it’s not listed as compatible with 5.5. Everyone has to go through the epic games launcher library and select “Show All Projects” then select the latest “compatible version” to add it to a 5.5 project. So I don’t have the ability to update it to new versions anymore apparently.

When I submitted a ticket to support for the previous issue, their first email back was asking me which product listing it is. In order to submit it a ticket under the type “Product Issues” which I used, you have to include the product URL. Why did they not have access to the information on the ticket??? It just seems like an unnecessary delay having to send it to them again.

Written reviews and Q&A on the product page should not have been taken away. That was a valuable resource for sellers and customers. I had multiple customers that had an issue, never reached out for support, then wrote a bad review. Then because of that I was able to respond to them and fix their problem, and they would then change their review. That benefits both the customer and seller immensely I can’t understand the thought process behind removing that, let alone the Q&A which was super valuable for customers getting more information on the product without having to reach out to the seller individually every time.

PLEASE add some kind of opt-in region based price parity. I get so many emails from people in different countries with far different economies saying my $80 USD product is a month’s wages where they live and asking for a discount. It’s why I made a Gumroad page because they offer price parity so that everyone gets an appropriate price. It sucks that they can’t use the launcher and FAB integrations to add that content directly to their project though. They have to download a project from Gumroad then migrate the content. I’d rather just be able to sell all in one place.
