Multiplayer RPC - Spawn Actor, AttachToComponent on Character

This section in my character blueprint is used to attach actors (armor, weapons, etc) to the character. To work in multiplayer I think I need to place everything in the image in a RPC custom event (run on server, reliable). The problem is that I need the ‘Return Value’ from SpawnActor to set a variable (Left Arm Item) on the original character. If I understand correctly, having Set ‘Left Arm Item’ in the RPC would set this variable for all characters in the server. How do I only set the variable for the original character who called this RPC? Also, am I doing this correctly by putting all of this into an RPC event?
