Multiplayer Lobby in Blueprints


I posted a new series of tutorials.

It is about building up a multiplayer lobby logic in blueprints only, using the Advanced Session Plugin.

Features included:

  • create, join & leave multiplayer session
  • multiplayer lobby
  • change color name & color in lobby
  • change color name & color ingame based on lobby info
  • browse online servers
  • save game objects
  • player health bars & names
  • some explanations on how to expand the code from that tutorial

as you mentioned in your tutorial, you were not going to post a finished example, but here is mine instead. (ue4 -v 4.11)

My version is not perfectly 1:1 and has a few bugs that I haven’t yet figured out how to work around. I think the ready buttons will break it somehow when someone decides to leave. Overall it’s a good tutorial on networking and I learned a lot. So thanks for posting it and keep on making tuts, since they are really helpful.


I might take the time to download and fix your project and to make a new video showcasing it (while giving a direct link to it).
