Summary
Hello everyone,
I’m experiencing a strange issue in the Unreal Engine Editor. My mouse cursor keeps flickering and there are constant FPS fluctuations when working in the editor. The FPS usually drops from my normal 120 FPS down to 40-70 FPS, and this lasts for 2-3 minutes, not just for a few microseconds.
Additionally, if I switch to another program (like Alt+Tab out of Unreal) and then come back to the editor, the FPS instability and flickering continue. Interestingly, when I hold down the right mouse button and move around in the viewport, the problem seems to temporarily disappear and the FPS becomes stable.

Has anyone else experienced this? What could be causing it, and are there any solutions?
My specs:
- Unreal Engine version: 5.6
- GPU: AMD RX 6750 XT
- OS: W11

Steps to Reproduce
The mouse cursor should move smoothly without any flickering, and the editor’s FPS should remain stable and high (e.g., 120 FPS as usual), regardless of switching between programs or clicking/dragging in the viewport. There should be no FPS drops or instability when navigating the viewport or returning to the editor from another application.
Expected Result
The mouse cursor constantly flickers, and the editor’s FPS fluctuates between 40 and 70 FPS instead of staying at the normal 120 FPS. This instability lasts for a few minutes, especially after switching back to the editor from another program. However, when I hold the right mouse button and move in the viewport, the issue temporarily disappears and the FPS returns to normal. Once I stop holding the right mouse button, the flickering and FPS drops resume.
