I’ve been looking around for answers and haven’t been able to find any, so for those of you that model or know about optimisation please add input.
If you delete the face backside of a model or have an open hole in the top/unseen. Does this cause issues, or use more processing than just using a completed model?
Will this not cause a drop in performance? Since essential you would be doing twice the rendering from a hole, as you would render not only the outside but then inside as well?
Doing so would almost always increase efficiency of the model overall and as a rule, it should be practiced. There are only two downsides, first is lower re-usability of the model and the second being situational complications with baked and dynamic lighting.
