Model appearing way too bright in UE5 handheld AR

I put in my own model into the handheld AR template and it appears ridiculously bright–does not match natural lighting at all. When I move the camera close to the object it appears normal.

Auto-exposure is turned off so I don’t think it’s that. I assume it’s because of the light intensity estimation but there’s not much in the API that allows control over this.

Anyone else deal with this or have any ideas about what could be causing it?

Open the BP_ARPawn blueprint, double click on (or search for) the ‘Feed Light Estimate’ box at the bottom left, then in the new blueprint change the value of the box near the centre from 1000 to something like 3000 (I assume a 3x reduction in brightness).

If you reduce the value to something like 100 you will meet God
