I have received seven different mails (until the moment of writting this) about supposed “FAB violations” due to unsupported format in my files, the thing is they´re all “.blend” files (FAB system doesn´t even allows to upload unsupported files to begin with), so what´s happening??.
I started to prepare and submit all of my models for revision since past September and already had all of them approved and live… Now just a few days after FAB launch I just started to receive these mails out of nowhere and it´s kinda frustrating, because now i have to dedicate even more time to the time already spended to complete the assets migration, and the time spended to learning and deciphering the new website operation to get all the assets settled and submitted until they were approved before the lauch date, and now this guys…
Uploaded all my files in (.blend) format, got all my models submitted, approved and live previous to FAB launch date. Now just a few days after the FAB lauch received multiple sanctions about “unsupported file type”
Expected Result
Since my models had already been previously reviewed, approved and published, these types of errors should not arise with the store already online
Observed Result
Multiple of my models have being late rejected even after being previously checked, approved and published
I got this when I submitted Unity package. No explanation on which file exactly was not supported. All I did was export Unity package as it was in my project. One other was accepted last week, with basically the same things like fbx meshes, psd/png textures and .pdf documentation.
YES, i just figured it just right now, i just reuploaded the very same file (just re-zipped it) and i´m having all of them approved with no issues by the moment. I will post any updates about this
Thanks, i double checked for any possible naming incompatibility but it´s all alright with it so 100% sure it´s a bug, the only workaround by the moment is to re-zip the files and re-upload them hitting the Replace button in the problematic listing
Managed to find a solution on my end after 6 unsuccessful attempts.
My problem seemed to be with the .zip i was storing my FBXs in. I ended up just summitting my non Zipped FBX files into the fbx section which were then zipped up after clicking confirm anyway. I then added the textures and materials as additional resources and I didn’t get the non supported email when submitted. Hasn’t been approved yet, but looks like it passed the stupid bot…
The error might be with how the .Zips are made. I right click → “compress to” on my windows machine which might not be a supported version of a .zip?
