Missing Textures Quixel

Why doesn’t Quixel import displacement image maps?

Texture

1K

8K

Displacement or depth textures do not appear.

I’m watching a video and 7 months ago it worked.

From the modeling tools displacement I get:

Is there any way to activate it?

what am i doing wrong? or is it the version?

Also the displacement “node” doesn’t show up because it’s not connected. What’s happening?

This is it

I think it’s the red channel.

You don’t want to modify the engine cube, because you probably want it to cube shaped in the future. Also, the cube needs to be high poly, which the engine one is not. Best to make your own in modelling mode.

You’re right I thought I had an actor cube “mine” and it was the default. Yes, here you are right.

But the theme of the texture and its displacement functions?

I just read this, is this a joke?

There’s no displacement of materials any more in 5, because of Nanite. But you can still displace meshes using the geometry tool.

The displacement map is in the red channel of that strange yellowy texture. That’s why those textures are called something like …ORDp ( Opacity, Roughness, Displacement ).

Ok, it must be something new that I missed.
By the way, how do I use the “displacement” function if it is not linked to the material?
What to connect and how?

Like I say, geo tool

You can’t displace meshes without committing, anymore. But you can displace landscape using virtual heightfield mesh.

Like I say, there is no displacement in materials anymore. But, you might get some joy by patching that function into the world position offset.

Thank you. If it can’t be done, I’ll see what I do.
