Missing/invisible skeletal mesh cloth parts?

Does anyone know why some part of a skeletal mesh are invisible when imported into Blender? I see it with cloaks or cloth parts. Two examples of this are Paragon characters Kallari and Sparrow.

Now I can convert it to a static mesh, where it is visible. (Which I’m asking myself why I hadn’t thought of before :smile: ) This also makes me wonder if maybe there’s a way to reverse this, to make extracting only the cloak easier.

It’s due to the cloth paint.
But I see so no benefit in not converting to Static Mesh unless the skeleton could somehow be converted to another.
And the cloak example can be separated easy enough by either Separate by Material or Select by Material.
