[Minor] Noticed certain visual effects were in the project earlier but now are not

There were several larger cylindrical god rays in the hub level. (as seen between the red lines here http://imgur.com/a/xgdbD)

  • 2 large ones representing sun light from the windows
  • 3 large ones coming from the fan lights
  • 1 large blue one coming from the “holotable” projector (i actually felt this one should have been even more prominent as it really sold the “projector” visually)
    these had a great 3D effect and I thought really added atmosphere to the scene. The smaller versions of these still exist on the upwards facing spotlights and fanlights.

Another missing effect I remember was the rotating fan “blob” shadows on the floor.

thirdly i no longer see the “hanging motes” dust particles

I was just curious why these were removed (perhaps they were considered to big of a performance hit?) and if they would be coming back.

Woops…

I was really curious about this and kept poking around and found out these items are all still in the scene and they were all set to “high” detail mode in the LOD section. My computer was under heavy CPU load during lightmap building and the editor lowered my detail mode settings so these things were no longer showing up. Putting my settings back to “Epic” caused them to all be visible again.
