Thank you for the report, the team is looking into this.
This will happen when the landscape lacks enough vertices. Since there are few vertices, reducing them to create the LODs significantly changes the shape of the landscape (flattening it in this case). In order for the LOD algorithm to work in a desirable way in this situation, the resolution of the landscape would need to be increased, or the LOD settings would need to be modified so that the highest level LOD is displayed at further distances from the camera.
