UI/Tools
Steps to Reproduce
- Create hair using MH Workspace & MH Groom Builder
- For comparison, you can create hair using the standard Houdini method with the Hair Generate node.
- Set them to the same thickness to make it easier to see the differences
- Rotate the viewport, changing the viewing angle.
Expected Result
The thickness of the hair should remain the same at any viewing angle.
Observed Result
Standard hair will always be the same thickness. Hair from MH Groom Builder becomes much thinner when viewed from above
Platform(s)
Windows 10, Houdini 20.5.654 OpenGL Viewport.

Can I check if you are using the MetaHuman Groom Head HDA, or importing a mesh directly?
The screenshot in the first post shows a simple Grid object. However, this problem occurs on any mesh, including the standard MH Groom Head. You can easily verify this by opening Houdini Groom Template, creating an MH Workspace with MH Groom Builder, and setting a width large enough to notice the problem (0.002 for example). The screenshot below shows how it looks on MH Groom Head.
I spent more time on this issue and it turned out that the problem was only with the MH Groom Workspace, and not with the MH Groom Builder.
For example, hair created with MH Groom Builder inside the standard Hair Generate object node looks fine.
And if you create them in the MH Groom Workspace, then they have the described display problems.
At the same time, if you use the standard Hair Generate geometry node inside the MH Groom Workspace, you will still have problems with the display.
So, the problem is only with the MH Groom Workspace.
