Metahumans not compatible with forward rendering? Looking for bug fix help

Hello,
I am testing out adding some metahumans to my project. I did a test build and once the game loads a level that includes a metahuman it crashes with the following error:

Fatal error: [File:D:/Build/++UE4/Sync/Engine/Source/Runtime/RenderCore/Private/RenderingThread.cpp] [Line: 902]
Rendering thread exception:
Assertion failed: Dependent->IsSubmitted() [File:D:/Build/++UE4/Sync/Engine/Source/Runtime/RenderCore/Private/RenderGraphPass.cpp] [Line: 214]

I did a test build in another project without forward rendering enabled and there is no error there. THen I enabled forward rendering and got the same error. So I think that narrows it down.

Because this error points to a specific line, I wonder is it possible to make some easy changes in code or perhaps disable something related to the metahumans rendering to achieve compatibility?

This is outside of my knowledge - any help is appreciated. I’m willing to pay for consultancy if it’s an area you are expert in.

I’ve submitted a bug report for this because it only happens in a build, the build process produces no errors, and editor works without issue, therefore leading me to believe this is a bug that is part of the build process.

Hi, did you find a fix for this? I’m trying to build and package a VR game that uses MetaHumans and running into the exact same error.

@ckostopo
IIRC I don’t think that I did.

I am no longer using forward rendering or metahumans in that project though so I don’t think I did any further testing after posting this.

All good, I just turned off forward rendering and no discernible difference. All works well. Thanks for posting this or I would have been very lost!
