MetaHuman & substrate Materials

Hi,
Wanted to ask if MetaHuman Materials is compatible with substrate materials so is it ok to convert to substrate if u are using MetaHuman for a project? I am using 5.6 latest release.
Also,
Anyone know if the Witcher 4 tech demo is using substrate materials or nah? The material editor in UE 5.6 shows this in the window:

Does this mean substrate will be the default material system in 5.7?

Would appreciate any info anyone can share. Thanks.

MetaHuman materials do not use Substrate but since Substrate work with the current material system the MetaHuman materials should work as expected, however, there is an issue with the Assembly process if substrate is enabled for a project (more info here) just so you are aware.

You can safely ignore the warning you’re seeing in the Material edtor since this panel will only be relevant if Substrate is enabled for your project.

Thanks for the info.

This did happen. My metaHuman had black materials. The solution was to disable substrate materials, click assemble and the Metahuman is created and then re-enable substrate materials after.

Also wanted to ask if u guys are planning on making a Blender plugin for MetaHuman. There are currently plugins for Maya and Houdini.
