Metahuman Hair and Depth Fog Post Process

Photo is fairly self explanatory. I’m using metahuman hair with default imported settings. The blue underwater fogging is a post-process material using scene depth. At anything other than extremely close distances, the hair strands render the world behind them without respecting the PP material. Where should I look to fix this? PP material or hair shader? The r.hairstrands group has like 10,000 cvars and is very daunting.

I feel like the fix for this is probably simple, but I’m not familiar enough with rendering or complex hair shaders.
