When I click the compresion button in the animation sequence editor, the following message appears:
“Raw: 0000,016.238 KiB - Compressed: 0000,042.828 KiB
Saving: 0000,015.999 EiB (0.379)”
I found that most “Mesh Space Additive” animation compression results in the compressed size being much larger than the raw.
Is this a display bug or is this the actual compression effect?
Hi, would it be possible for you to share the assets? Without having access to them, it’s hard to say for sure whether this is a compression issue, or just an issue with the reporting.
Another option here, if you’re concerned with the effectiveness of the compression algorithms, would be to switch over to using ACL rather than the older default compression in the engine. ACL has been the default compression for a while in newer versions of the engine, but there are plugins available for 4.27 on github.
