I’m having a hell of a time with the mesh Paint tool on planes.
For some reason i’m getting this odd pattern when i paint.
Would anyone know where i messed this up?

Its happening on every plane i have or create so i think it may be some Mesh Paint Mode issue.
I made a Material with Layer Blends that works fine with Material Attributes on the Landscape mesh.
The mesh paint tool works… but it just has no falloff and it makes this horizontal look.
I’m going to see if its an issue in this project as you said. I have another project where it worked fine… i may see if i can bring the material blend, the different Materials and the geometry into this project and check if it will work.
If it doesn’t… well… that would mean all of this work is shot.

I imported in previous assets that worked. So its user error in setting it up i think.
Plus is it now works.
Minus is that i didn’t set it up right and can’t diagnosed where i went wrong.

If you can paint a new, high poly plane ok, with the same material, it must be related to the other plane. The only thing left is UVs?
Can you show the UV channel 0 for the bad mesh?
Found out what i was doing wrong… really bone headed…
Didn’t have nearly enough Light map resolution on my plane. I upped it and now it works fine.
Hmm, you’re not using the lightmap, but… glad it’s working
