Melee Fighting Blueprint

We have so many animation packages for 1H-2H swords, we also have some plugins for melee system but we don’t actually have a functioning melee system for building action rpgs.

It would be nice to have one. I’m not even talking about Dark-Souls style melee combat which is extremely advanced. Up to the point, that every single weapon has different animations, reach, etc.
Even something smaller, like in Skyrim, Oblivion, Gothic 1-2-3, would be nice to have.

I did, yes. But it doesn’t look like it has a whole system built around it. It looks like per-bone hit detection system without hitpoints, stamina and things like that.
However, Rama’s plugin is very impressive and would work well with the action-rpg system.

Have you checked The Art of Combat?

I am currently working on such a project.

Will be using a system somewhat between Mount & Blade and For Honor.

If you’re looking for a very feature-thin setup that allows for damage/stamina and easy extensibility, for free, check this out. For whatever reason, I took this post as inspiration to make that.

If you’re looking for a more feature-complete setup, I’d point you to The Art of Combat- but it’s pretty advanced.

That’s exactly what I was looking for. When is it scheduled for release or is it still WIP?

It’s still WIP, however, there will be an early access release (Gumroad or something similar) in about 1-2 weeks.

Not yet. But I’ll let you know when I reach a decision.

Little GIF showing the different guard stances. Switching can either be done like in Mount & Blade, where you can constantly change. Or like in For Honor where you can only change when you have a target locked on and hold a button to change the guard.
