Megascan decals on a spline mesh

Hi, I’m working in UE 4.27 and have been trying to get a decal to look right on a spline mesh road. It looks fine on the landscape.

I have tried messing with the Mips, I have DecalBuffer checked and been trying random stuff with materials, LOD’s.

Any one have a recommendation on things to try?

Did you use pom on spline mesh material? Some time this happens on parallax occlusion mapping.
