Unreal Editor for Fortnite
What Type of Bug are you experiencing?
Devices
Summary
Since 27.00, dying or respawning inside a Day Sequence Device set as a “Trigger” zone will revert the global lighting to the default Fortnite Day/Night cycle. Additionally, it will break all other Day Sequence Devices “Volumes” on the map.
Steps to Reproduce
- Start a new empty UEFN map.
- Place a Day Sequence Device at the spawn location and set it as a trigger with an extent of 300x300x300.
- Set the Day/Night cycle setting to “Fixed”, and set the time to night or midday, just to have a distinct look.
- Start the game.
- The lighting should be the same as in the editor and follow the Day Sequence Device’s settings.
- Respawn your character.
Expected Result
- The time of day should remain the same fixed time that has been set up in the Day Sequence Device.
Observed Result
- The time of day gets reverted to the default Fortnite Day/Night cycle.

Additional Notes
Once the Fortnite Day/Night cycle appears, all other Day Sequence Devices in the map are ignored, and the Day/Night cycle gets priority over everything else. This is a very big issue for us since we have different gameplay phases that take place during the night and during the day.
Here is a video link that shows both DSD being ignored after respawning :
