It works in the editor and during all previews of the game, but once packaged it no longer functions. I also have it mapped to the “q” key, but that still does nothing after packaged. Does anybody know how to fix this?
The Media Player has recently gone through an overhaul for the upcoming releases, so the process in which to call the media player to playback has changed. For now though, I have written a tutorial to show users the proper way to get the correct functionality out of their Media Player assets.
Thank you so much for sharing the sample. However if I try to package the sample project for win-64 the packaging fails. I tried it by creating everything from scratch in 4.15 but still packaging fails. I have posted a question for the same here
This is very crucial to our project. One of our developer have already started to build the solution in Unity just in case if packaging issue does not resolve with media player in unreal.
Before sharing the project with you, I made sure to package it under the Windows 64-bit target platform and it worked fine on my end. There must be something either wrong with the video format or another variable about your project which is causing the project to fail.
We can continue troubleshooting your packaging issue on the new post you created.
