Media Plates not rendering properly

Hi there,

I have a scene scene to render for an opera in which you see people walking through fire.

I have a lot of footage of fire with alpha channel and thought it might be the easiest way to combine these with two mixamo animated skeleton mesh animations in UE 5.3. Well, I could live with the slow performance of UE when building the level. But when I try to render via Movie Render Queue it freezes the clips. I tried to shortened the sequence to render and as a matter of fact not all clips (or media plates) still are freezed. In fact when I render just two seconds only one of the two I have in my test level is rendered as a still where the other clip plays back fine. Next time I render it without changing anything the other fire clip is frozen while the second one now is playing. Crazy. Maybe it’s a of video memory problem.

I understand that UE might not be the best tool for using video media to composite a scene. But working with animated skeleton meshes in UE is great. After Effects might be better for the job. But then I would have to export my skeleton meshes from UE and import them in AE which seems not to be an easy task.

Anyone has an idea how to make the media plates (in my case 4K clips) render properly? For sure I want to put in a lot more clips than the two I used to test in my final scene.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Gee
