Hi I am working on the following project and am using the HTC Vive to measure the accumulative distance of a physical wheelchair:
For analysis of friction and resistance I would also like to measure the accumulative linear distance of one of the wheels (so as to compare distance of the chair with the linear wheel distance). I had tried using a hall sensor but it only recorded full rotations of the wheel rather than incremental wheel movement so it was not accurate enough.
I was wondering whether anyone has used either an accelerometer or an android rotation vector sensor or any other hardware to calculate linear distance traveled by a wheel ?
