Material Turns White/Missing in Twinmotion After Using Isolation in 3ds Max

Hi everyone,

I’m currently working on a project where I’m using 3ds Max 2023 in conjunction with Twinmotion 2024.1, and I’ve encountered a frustrating issue that I’m hoping someone can help me resolve.

The Issue: Whenever I isolate an object in 3ds Max and then exit isolation mode, the material on that object either turns white or goes missing when I bring the model into Twinmotion. This happens consistently, and I can’t seem to figure out what’s causing it or how to fix it.

Exporting and re-importing the model into Twinmotion doesn’t seem to help either.
I’ve checked for material ID consistency and tried using standard materials, but with no success.

Details:

  • 3ds Max Version: 2023
  • Twinmotion Version: 2024.1
  • Datasmith Exporter: UnrealDatasmithMaxExporter_5_4_3
  • Export Format: Live Link

Has anyone else experienced this issue? Any tips on how to fix it or workarounds would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance for your help!

I encountered same problem, go to settings/preferences, change the folder location of the textures. Then problem was solved for me.
