Material color depends on height UE 5.1

What can cause difference in texture color? Asset is the same, and when i put it in different height it becomes lighter or darker. It affects every asset in level. It’s not light issue, and i don’t see any options in material blueprints.

Hey @LAVR75! Welcome to the Forums!

It’s kind of hard to tell what you are referring to at a glance from this image. Do you have any material functions set up in your project?

Any additional specifics you provide may go a long way in solving your problem.

If you’re using assets with advanced “auto materials” they can be designed in a way that their physical properties automatically alter their texture, such as height and slope.

Hi! I am writing about these assets, they are good example. Asset is the same and when i put it lower it becomes lighter, and then darker again. Are you talking about this kind of function?

Hey @LAVR75,

That’s exactly what we are referring to. So stratification is the arrangement of strata (rock layers). These layers are most often different colors and made of different kinds of rock. The portion of the material you highlighted is supposed to simulate that effect.

I hope the above is what you are looking for!

Hey @LAVR75,

Just checking in, was the above the solution you were looking for?

Hi, i changed to gray texture object in this function and it’s working now, thanks!
