Material and planar reflection

Hello, thank you for taking the time to help me with my problem. I am currently working on a scene in UE 4.27 and I would like to add mountain reflections on my water. But nothing seems to work. I have followed some tutorials and read the Unreal page dedicated to “planar reflection”. Can you help me?

In screen one, I show what I want with planar reflections.

In screen two, I press G to see what I have, but it is not identical and not even close.

In screen three, I show my material. (I have been working on UE for a long time, but I still don’t know how to activate the grayed-out part (screen space reflection) with roughness and metallic material parameters enabled as well (screen 4).

Of course, I have enabled the project settings to use planar reflections (last screen).

That looks like you have a cubemap for some reason overriding the planar reflection system. I couldn’t tell you what exactly is making it happen. Is this for a game or a cinematic?

It’s for a VR game. The goal is simply to traverse worlds, without any major mechanics or anything, so I think I can afford to use resources for reflections in the water.

And i deleat the sphere reflection capture now i have this. (no reflection).

I have no idea what that could be then, unfortunately. I’m also really struggling to get planar reflections to work, and I’m somewhat mystified by their behavior as well. Best of luck.

Then it seems you have no planar reflections enabled. Maybe it’s your fault, or maybe a bug, I haven’t tried it in the current UE version.
