In the last ~2 weeks, players who join my Fortnite Creative island are almost always placed in completely separate sessions instead of getting into the same lobby.
The island supports up to 50 players with public matchmaking, but most players start the matches alone because new sessions are constantly being created instead of filling existing ones.
This problem occurs in multiple regions. I have also received messages from players asking why they are always alone in the matches, which confirms that it is not just my own tests/join attempts that are affected.
I recorded a video showing the issue, where I join the island and am placed in an empty session.

This is something i’d like to also support. In our game we even are getting clients on the same network not being placed into the game. Massive issue for any social open world type game
Same issue on 5111-6114-6754. The issue is also present in Playtest.
I tried to join using 4 accounts. The first 2 players are placed in 2 different lobbies, then the player 3 joins one of the 2 lobbies and the player 4 joins the remaining lobby with 1 player. At the end there is 2 lobbies with 2 players instead of having 1 lobby with 4 players.
The issue is still ongoing and hasn’t been fixed even after today’s update. This is seriously affecting the game, and many players are leaving Fortnite because of it.
Players are reporting this issue on my map as well. They are based in Europe and have said they are only ever put into a session alone, unless they change their region to the US, but then the lag is too bad.
This started happening to my island 0678-0014-4695 since update 39.00
I also noticed platforms cannot matchmake with other platforms, I tested this by simultaneously joining the playtest version of the island in the same region.
A few players also reported not being able to matchmake with their friends unless they’re invited (they play on different platforms)
This is issue is almost completely killing my island.
