I’ve been trying to enter a private island with a secondary account to playtest it in multiplayer.
My main account has no problem to load it, but the others fail with “Matchmaking Error : You Cannot Play this Game Mode at this Time”.
I tried with an account on another PC computer, and another with XBox Cloud, and both failed. I also made sure my main account was the party leader.
When I try to start a game, only the main account can enter it
unfortunately thats how UEFN works, you have to be an official creative creator to be able to publish for anyone other than you to join.
there is a way around. you can get your friends to sign up to the creator portal too and then you can invite them to the project which makes them a collaborator then you can play the map with them, and they can also help create it.
but as of now. you cannot creative a map and just load it offline with your friends at will
and they have to be verified 18 years old to collaborate on the map too.
Oh! Thank you for your help
If Epic comes by and read this, I would really love to have some tools, like in UE5, to be able to launch several session in a window to test the multiplayer. I don’t want to publish a game in public and then found out it doesn’t work as intended
Indeed it is still tedious and you still need to have second hardware (PC or console) to test multiplayer. Luckily for me I have an old laptop that can barely run Fortnite, but that’s far from an ideal solution
