Matching CineCamera settings with Maya settings

Hey there everyone,

I’ve been tasked with doing some CGI for a colleague of mine, and decided UE4 would be perfect. I followed this tutorial to track my data and used Maya to export my camera animation to UE4. I did a test render from Maya and composited it over the footage I tracked and it was pixel perfect, however using that same animation for the camera and matching the camera’s settings from Maya (Focal length, sensor size, aperture, etc) the perspective is off substantially. Is there something I’m missing here?

What has worked for me, although not necessarily ideal is to go into maya and ensure:

Unreal Aspect Ratio: 1.77,1 = Maya Camera: Camera Aperture 1.77,1 AND Film Aspect Raio 1.77
Unreal Camera: FOV: 90 = Maya Camera: Angle of View: 90

Camera Aperture is often a more precise balance that doesn’t have to match the Film Aspect Ratio. It’s not clear to me if there are other issues with this set up, but I would say for the use cases that required a close visual match this is reasonable.
