Marketplace Content - What would you like to see from the community?

I think every game engine benefits from more good quality templates and game genre examples. Helps people get started and in the right direction.

Some advanced AI, advanced character controllers and stuff like that fits well in to almost all projects.

Material Functions Library. I think a lot of people could benefit from A library containing a bunch of the most common material functions to where we can plug and play with advanced materials by using pre-made function nodes.

would something like be helpful in Unreal? Itā€™s sort of terrain extension for , while Unreal has a more complete terrain engine, still curious if it can be expanded upon

I really would love to see more 2D content. The Trello Board has 0 content in the 2D section. I want to see animation sprite atlas that can be used as reference to draw on top of, character animations, creature animations. I want to see small, specific art packs, not huge 700 packs that you will use only 30 assets in the bunch and spend hours filtering. As far as mechanics, well, Iā€™m on it  Iā€™m working on a 2D Platform/Metroidvania Character Engine atm. But I would love to have some cool sprites from the market to use within the project to exemplify the mechanics. 5-10$ sprites packs would be an insta buy for me(even if it features only one character or environment atlas, as long as it is complete), I love the 2D aspect of gaming, and I think that UE4 has greatly evolved to help us create these types of games. If you are a sprite artist, take a bit of time to create !!

Also, more 8-bit audio, sfx

Not sure if it is mentioned , but some military / civilian characters that arenā€™t so modern would be nice.

Also some older weapons, there are a mountain of M16 / Beretta / AK47 variants out there and not much else is making it to the marketplace.

Iā€™d love to see female characters. It looks like some male characters are in the works, and weā€™ve seen one female military character (I think?) but what about female characters of varying types so we can fill our games with crowds and families.

I would like to see Character Physically-- Based Shaders similar to what was released on asset store
://.assetstore.unity3d./en/#!/content/33606
That would be a great addition to the physically based shader within unreal

It would be really very cool those Hoverboards like Unreal Tournament, those that comes with UDK. With more customization as the ability to controlling velocity, acceleration, type, format, animation, damage, how players and enemies are expected to fall, custom weapons attached. Would be really nice to see jumping from a huge ramp while the player shoots while performing a 360Āŗ extreme maneuvers. All for any fast and crazy warfare with hoverboards.

Customizable and procedural spiders.
Spiders with many weapons, AI and movement. Various spiders types and species. Including aliens, robotics, mythical and monstrous.

Iā€™m really amazed that no one attempted to make any custom collision generator yet. Collision is the biggest obstacle I think for a designer to make level design for Unreal. I really donā€™t understand why we canā€™t have the same or similar collision model when we click Convex Decomposition. Even modifying the odd vertices in the collision model will do the trick. If I can modify a collision modelā€™s vertices just like the model, I can shape it into a proper thing. Moving, rotating the collision model is of no use at all. Iā€™m not a programmer so I want to ask; is it really so hard to make a proper generator? Or if there is one and I donā€™t know of? Can someone shed some light on please?

Where are all of the fantasy RPG modelsā€¦ skeletons, kobolds, orcs, dragons, demons, etcā€¦ to name just a few :

What you describe would be a plugin, and the marketplace does not support plugins. Only blueprints.

Oh I didnā€™t know that. Hmm, interesting.

is not entirely correct. Weā€™re adding support for code plugins in 4.8, and are currently working with people creating code plugins to refine the process for accepting them. The Kinect 4 Unreal content we released recently (://.unrealengine./assets?lang=en-US&q=kinect) was one of the first examples of that. Right now Iā€™m working with quite a few content creators right now on code plugin content theyā€™d like to publish on the Marketplace. Weā€™re really looking forward to opening up the floodgates on that once we can do it reliably, and thatā€™s one of my top goals in the coming weeks and months. More on that soon.

Thatā€™s good! Then we will be able to have a save game system abled to write a binary file.

means that custom blueprints nodes will be able to be sold on the market?

Iā€™m saving my $ for

Iā€™m currently making an 8-bit audio pack. If you have any sounds or ideas that youā€™d like to see included in please let me know.
Thanks,

I would just like to see a nice, simple, yet flexible weapon system. Something that allows you to carry multiple guns, Primary, Secondary, Tertiary, ect all with a specific number of slots that you can change. A system like that of Counter Strike or Half Life.

I would like to see animals, such as farm, wild life (open plane, Forest, in caves) you know stuff that people you use to populate large environment. Also I see mixamo has animals, I would like to see Epic work with them to get a standard rigging, so it wouldnā€™t matter what animal is used. you could bring it into the editor and have the animation, just like the hero character mesh.

Mixamo quadruped and X-peds

Off the top of my head, one cool thing would be:

A horse riding system

The ā€œhorseā€ could be any interchangeable creature meshā€¦

guy said it all.
A Creature Riding System.

A horse, an ogre, a bear, a giant white saber-toothed cat, a giant cavemanā€¦
