Markerless Motion Capture: body solve crashes instantly with DirectML 887A0005 on RTX 4090

Summary

The MetaHuman Animator Markerless Motion Capture plugin crashes the editor every time I click Process. The crash happens ~0.07 s after “Run start”, before any frame is processed. It also happens in a brand-new blank project.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. UE 5.8, enable MetaHuman Animator + Markerless Motion Capture (Fab) plugins.
  2. Ingest a mono video via Live Link Hub > Capture Manager > Mono Video Ingest.
  3. Create a MetaHuman Performance asset, select the capture data.
  4. Disable Facial Tracking, enable Body Tracking, Head Movement Mode = Disable.
  5. Click Process → editor crashes immediately.

System: Windows 11 25H2 (build 26200), RTX 4090 (driver 617.42, also 617.14), Ryzen 9 7950X.

Already tried (no effect): blank project, original 1080p and re-encoded H.264 footage, TdrDelay/TdrDdiDelay = 60, iGPU disabled, DISM/SFC + in-place upgrade to 25H2, new NVIDIA driver, Hardware Ray Tracing off, -nogpucrashdebugging, NVIDIA overlay off.

Expected Result

The body solve runs and produces an animation sequence that can be exported.

Observed Result

Editor crashes. Log:
LogMetaHumanPipeline: Display: Pipeline using unspecified GPU
LogNNERuntimeORT: Error: …DmlCommandRecorder.cpp(371) onnxruntime.dll … 887A0005 (GPU device instance suspended)
Unhandled Exception: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION reading address 0x0000000000000000

With Facial Tracking on, FaceDetector/Headpose/Solver fail with the same 887A0005 error. No nvlddmkm/TDR event in Windows, so the driver itself does not reset. Is there a way to select the GPU or force CPU inference? Crash folder attached.
