Map image vanished both mini map and big map

Summary

Both the mini map and big map textures vanished from my game. After numerous restarts they are back and working so if this happens restart your uefn a few times.

If this happens again i will show/share logs

Steps to Reproduce

Unsure everything was working then the images were just gone. Still showed the shape of the maps ie circle for my mini map but thats it. It did show the map indicator icons still just no background map image

never seen this but it shouldnt vanish

Is anyone else seeing this?

It happened to me as well few hours ago in my oldest and biggest map (the same issue, background images of the minimap and the full map were missing, there were only icons), but only once and in a new session it was OK again and did not happened again so far. If it will happen again in one of my maps, I will let you know in this thread.

But for me it happened in a live version of my map, not in edit session launched from UEFN.

Looks like a problem with Revision Control not restoring the above assets.

At the start of your report after numerous attempts, these have been finally restored.

This the Unreal revision control error may be the missing mini map assets.

I dnt actually use any custom texture @Jimbohalo10 just the map controller to set the circle map shape. Do you mean the textures or the devices themselves. Sorry i aint a fan of Revision Control tbh i find it problematic

To find to Asset name use the code in outliner to select the asset which will be highlighted

Says no matching results idk even what that is it should just be the normal map image setup all i did was use the map controller thing to change the map shape

Just to further add to this Jimbo ive never seen this on any map before the last update. Even my friend on one of hi maps has the same issue the map randomly disappears

Seems like Revision Control, like you say, is random at the moment, when changing versions

Seems to be working at the moment. There have been other reports of servers settling down after the upgrade

TY ill keep an eye on it but the map thing i have never seen before i dnt even know how that can just vanish when its an epic system so idk

I’m seeing this also. I’m using 6 map controllers to define areas.

Update: after restarting everything i have minimaps appearing. Will continue to monitor this.

I have recorded a full session start with logs ect i will send you link via dm as idk if they is confidential things in logs but yea it shows the entire thing and lack of maps

It just happened to me again right now while I am at Edit Session. I was at it for a while and map was OK, then I was not active for around 15 minutes and when I got back to continue moving with my character, background images in the minimap and also full size map are gone and I have there only icons of Map Indicator Devices and arrow representing my location, nothing else.

Have you set the Sleep time in Fortnite to NEVER currently the default is 15 minutes and when using my Nintendo there was a timeout because my Nintendo Fortnite Sleep timer caused a crash even just running Fortnite after 15 minutes the Sleep function could not recover. The same thing happens on Android when you are just running the Fortnite game.

Yes, I have it set to “Never” in the game settings in section “Energy Saving”.
