Map Controller: custom material crashed client

Summary

Assigning a custom map material to the map controller device will cause a client crash when attempting to push changes.
UEFN then will not push additional changes, requiring a shutdown of the editor, relaunch of both editor and client severely impacting iteration time.

Steps to Reproduce

Place Map Controller Device in World.
Check “Custom map material” = true.
Assign a custom map material (needs to be material of domain type = UI.)
Launch map.
Make changes in scene.
Save scene.
Push new changes.

Expected Result

Map should update as expected and custom minimap should display

Observed Result

Client crashes.

Also I am pretty sure the reason is the garbage collector somehow renames the image used in the material and when pushing changes it trys to acess it but it got renamed

After switching to a texture instead of a map material these lines for the textures are no longer in the logs which should mean thats the reason

FORT-840084 is ‘Closed’ as ‘Fixed’. The issue will be addressed in 34.00.
