I am trying to learn how to make magic VFX and I’m wondering if this is a good tutorial for making Vector fields in Maya. I want the fluid motion for my GPU Sprites that will follow a projectile (Fall off from a Fireball).
The only difference for me would be that the particles would be pushed in the direction of the projectile instead of upwards. I figured I could export the fluid shape (looks like another vector field thing I was watching awhile back), then I would import it as a vector field in UE4, add it to GPU Particles and then figure out how to go about making the actual projectile itself.
Any advice and direction would be greatly appreciated!
