Making backgrounds for use in a visual novel

If I use unreal engine to create renders and screenshot them, can I use them to create a visual novel in a different engine like Renpy?

If so, what if I create the scenes with megascans and assets bought from the marketplace? I’m asking this since megascans are exclusive to unreal engine.

Also, am I liable to royalty?

" Under the standard EULA, there are no fees or royalties payable to Epic Games for creating and releasing linear content—that is, content which is viewed as a series of sequential frames (or as a single frame), rather than as an interactive experience. Linear content includes films, TV shows and commercials, videos, and still images."

I assume that visual novels don’t come under these.

I think you tread in deep waters when you use Unreal Engine as a means for generating assets which then are used in another engine. I am not familiar with Renpy, however if you end up selling interactive experiences via Renpy, I believe that Epic Games will require a royalties or a fee.

Best way would be to ask the legal team of Epic or have an attorney or legal person translate the EULA into your predicament.

Best of luck!
