I want to make more accurate hair textures for my character. I looked up how epic does their hair, but i cant figure out their process for baking hair strands on textures in max.
I’ve looked around seems that most common solution is to convert the hair into splines then into geometry then bake it, but that solution is well half arsed (It partially breaks the way you setup the hair and have to completely rework the materials.
Is there any documentation on how to do this? Manual painting solution just doesn’t give me enough info, like height and color variation to be useful in the new system epic is developing. Especially working with pixel depth offset.
