Since the new season’s update (v30.00), the input triggers are not working as they were previously.
First of all, it looks like the “Creative Input Actions” menu that was in the Fortnite settings got removed from the game and the keybinds assigned to these actions were reset to their default value. This can be really problematic for players (like me) that don’t use “WASD” to move since we have no way to change this.
Also, input trigger devices that have “Creative Input Action” as the “Input Type” don’t work at all on controller (the keybinds are empty).
Here you can see the keyboard controls that don’t have the “Creative Input Actions” anymore: Imgur: The magic of the Internet
Here you can see the controller inputs being empty (with input trigger devices that have “Creative Input Action” as the “Input Type”) and their settings correctly set: Imgur: The magic of the Internet
Steps to Reproduce
Enter in a map that already have input trigger devices that have “Creative Input Action” as the “Input Type”.
Start the game
Try to change your “Creative Input Actions” in the Fortnite game settings
Expected Result
When using a controller, the controls are showing up correctly and are functionnal.
When using keyboard and mouse, you can change your “Creative Input Actions” in the Fortnite game settings
Observed Result
When using a controller, the controls are not showing up at all and are not functionnal.
When using keyboard and mouse, you can not change your “Creative Input Actions” in the Fortnite game settings (this section got removed).

Additional Notes
If you ever need more information, feel free to ask!
It seems the main issue is because the new update removed Creative Input Actions from the settings. Even if those settings are only meant for keyboard & mouse, it seems to affect both keyboard users and controller users.
To add on to the conversation regarding the “input trigger device”, another massive bug seems to be that the device will now pass all the agents registered to the device OR all active agents in the session if activated with verse code.
I have a verse player map that stores stats for all the players in my experience. I also have an input trigger device referenced in my code that activates a function for a specific player. The function is stored in the player class. Before the update, this function would only go off when it was called by the player activating the input trigger. Now, no matter who activates the input trigger, this function activates for everyone.
I am still trying to figure out who exactly “everyone” is (as mentioned above, either all players or all registered agents to the device). But for now I can 100% say that it is not working correctly
Apologies if I am unable to relay my personal experience to this issue correctly/accurately, but since this is relevant to the creative input actions option being absent in the settings, it seems appropriate to provide my input in this thread.
Platform: Playstation 5
Input Device: Dualsense Controller
Island Code: 7154-1898-4800 (Lumberjack Heroes created by itsjacky)
The Island contains a randomly spawned, menu-based mini game (Flower Bloom) where the player must press several correct sequences of directional buttons within a limited period of time.
Because the input commands that appear in the game UI are strictly cardinal, there is a very high chance that sensitive movement of directional analog sticks will create the wrong direction, thereby disrupting the game’s progress.
In recognition of this issue, the minigame had provided a visual solution for controller users by instructing them to customize the inputs via the Creative Input Actions menu within the settings. This function was present in previous versions of Fortnite, and I was able to use customized inputs to progress through the minigame.
However, now that the Creative Input Actions menu is gone as of the current Fortnite patch, I am currently unable to play the minigame as intended on a controller device.
Also additionally in my map, I had 2 Input triggers set to the same key, 1 that should do nothing (Not connected to anything and only acts as tip that a double press does something diffeerent) and 1 that was connected using verse to toggle music and skip music on double tap.
Now pressing the toggle button acts like it is skipping music as well and the not connected button somehow doing the same even if it is not connected to anything (when tapping it on mobile phone)
Hello, the last update fixed the bug I reported but I’ve still not found time to check if the issue you mentioned has been fixed. Could you confirm it?
The “Creative Input Actions” section is indeed back in the Fortnite settings since the last update.
There is still an issue remaining for controller players (at least on PC and I can’t check if it’s also happening on console): the creative input actions are still not assigned and it makes the game unplayable.
Here’s a screenshot as an evidence where we can see the “standard actions” from the input trigger device are rightly binded but the creative input actions are not.
The island is not yet published as we’re still working on some small features and waiting for all the major bugs to be fixed.
However, here is the project id: 464d0215-40f4-dffe-a3f0-fca2ce91fa9a
After seeing some clips on Twitter, I noticed that some people weren’t having the issue I have with the controller and the input trigger devices.
I spent a lot of time in the Fortnite game settings to try to find what could’ve been wrong and the issue got resolved when I switched the “Controller Binding Presets” setting to something else than “builder pro” (which I believe is the default Fortnite setting for controllers).
After having applied the changes, I was able to change back this setting to “builder pro” and still having the input trigger actions working correctly.
For your info, I’ve encountered this issue with an XBOX and a PS4 controller on PC.
Looks like now everything is working as intended.
