Still having issues with connection errors, for the first time today I was able to get into live, but after making some progress on the project I ran into this error again. After several restarts and multiple attempts I still get this error.
BeaconV2.FailedToBuildManifestServer.Host, Failed Building manifest for EConsumerRole::Server with platform: Linux and error: Failure ErrorCode=errors.com.epicgames.cookplugin.genericerror, Message=An error occurred while communicating with the game servers (errors.com.epicgames.cookplugin.genericerror)., CookJobId:0991745b-680e-46dd-9d3a-b318326945a4, Raw=errors.com.epicgames.cookplugin.genericerror, ClientId:Server, RequestId:EE01D04A71DD44258D30B13E131362B3)

This morning I opened that map that had the Content Beacon Error and it had some missing references. I deleted all those, then ran the map. It worked but I can’t say that deleting those references was what fixed it
Edit: never mind I had a prefab(Steel Bridge Yellow) that then was missing parts. I deleted it and re-added it, Content Beacon Error again. I also have 6 other of the same bridge prefabs and those don’t seem to keep getting parts removed from it.
I made a video of how the issue is created but I’m a “new user” and can’t upload attachments.
I suppose I can try to type it out.
I believe there’s an issue with the way prefabs are uploaded from the UEFN to the server then downloaded to Creative Mode Play, that issue is then pushed back up to the server and pulled to UEFN which will now be a corrupt level, or a level with errors in it. Broken references like I posted above. I have a video of that, and how to reproduce it.
@Flak, can we get @dschoneveld-sims a place to upload that video? I wants it!
Good work dschoneveld-sims, apologies for the error.
Just so everyone knows, Content Beacon is a service that connects your UEFN client to the content cooker and other services. So when an error comes up, it can be either a problem with your project or the more likely scenario is that services on our end crashed. Either way, you can always post your content beacon error here and we’ll take it. On your end, you can try again to see if the same error pops up. Sometimes the error on our end does get corrected, sometimes it does not. TLDR: Content Beacon is a the messenger, we need to read the error to see what went wrong.
@dschoneveld-sims could you upload the video to a google drive and send us the link in a DM? Right now we don’t have uploading working for the forum since they are private.
This seems silly, but I don’t know how to DM. I clicked on your name but I don’t see a DM option. Can’t I just post the link here? I couldn’t perfectly reproduce it in the video but I show what happening, and what might be the root of the issue.
